Remembering the Wrinkles, by Penelope Friday.

Narrated by Rose Caraway!

This K.M.Q. bonus episode is taken from the Audio book: Gotta Have It: 69 Stories of Sudden Sex, edited by Rachel Kramer Bussel and published by Cleis Press.

As many of you know, the “Sex Positive” movement is afoot, and one national conversation that has sprung from it, in my opinion, is long overdue.

I feel sometimes in our rush to explore all the diverse aspects of human sexuality one thing gets a bit glossed over: the power of sexual intimacy and connection.

I’m not a psychologist or a therapist of any kind. I’m just a writer. But I really feel that a healthy sexual outlet is almost required to maintain a healthy, meaningful, and enjoyable life.

I’m sure many of you are fans of Dan Savage’s podcast like me. For those who haven’t discovered his show, on his podcast he’s coined a terrific acronym: GGG.  It stands for Good, Giving, and Game. It means one should strive to be good in bed, giving “equal time and equal pleasure” to one’s partner, and game “for anything—within reason.” I think this idea is exactly how we should behave with our partners, and I think Penelopy Friday’s “Remembering the Wrinkles” exemplifies GGG, perfectly.

Just a little something I thought I would toss your way to let you ruminate on.

Special thanks go to the very generous, Grapes, aka Jeff Kendall. Search “Smokegrapes” in youtube to get more of his excellent music.

Thanks for listening everyone! See you soon!
