Pulling the Covers Back on Dreamtime: A Writer’s Journey into Unfiltered Creativity

In the quiet moments between the “episodes” of life, we often search for inspiration, don’t we? A connection to our innermost creative selves. For me, this takes the form of a ritual I’ve practiced for many years—my morning Dreamtime journaling.

Do you remember your dreams? What tales do they tell? Do you ever write them down? Do you ever try to find meaning in your dreams? How often do you dream about sex? Have you ever experienced the eerie embrace of a night terror, where you’re aware of being in a dream, yet you’re unable to wake up? I’ve captured some of those haunting moments in my journals. Do you ever dream on purpose to further a story along, or to solve a plot problem, or to find just the right dialog between characters? I sure do.

“Dreamtime” has always been a sort of sanctuary for me, from my childhood to the present. It’s the realm where I run free in landscapes heavily entwined with the wild threads of my sexuality. And it’s a place I’ve never entirely opened up about—a territory I’ve kept preciously guarded, until now.

For over a decade, I’ve been the voice behind the Kiss Me Quick’s Erotica Podcast, weaving and narrating sensual tales to my Lurid Listeners. And recently, I’ve been contemplating a few things: my spiritual self, my erotic self, my writerly self, and the KMQ podcast. This year, on August 22nd, at about 6:30 in the morning, after I’d finished journaling, an epiphany struck—I’ve never fully exposed my erotic self to my Lurid Listeners. Why is that?

I’ve interviewed numerous authors and listened to dozens more discussing their writing habits, techniques, methods, and strategies. I’ve always found it fascinating to learn how other writers write. I have also purchased and read probably far too many “how to write” reference books, all in an effort to write better. And this exposure has helped me add to my writer’s toolbox, but I have yet to encounter a kindred spirit who shares my seemingly “unorthodox” approach to writing.

Anyways, whether or not I am some kind of writerly unicorn, it’s high time I shared these unedited dreams of mine because I believe it’ll be fun. Plus, you’ll get more frequent KMQ episodes instead of waiting around for me to rework, rewrite, and edit a professionally prepared story.

But, I wonder. Are you, my beautiful KMQ Lurid Listeners, up for this level of intimacy? Because crazy, exciting, unfiltered, unedited characters and plot lines play out within the erotic Dreamtime recesses of my mind. I ask you this because, while you are presumably an adult who already enjoys the erotic storytelling content Big Daddy and I provide on the podcast, this new Dreamtime experience is going to show you “how the sausage is made,” so to speak.

What I have in mind is not gonna be like me showing you a bunch of boring baby pictures or dozens of tedious vacation pictures. This will be us having a little fun with me reading to you exactly the kind of thing I read to my husband all those years ago that inspired him to think we should do a podcast.

It’s between our normal KMQ episodes that I’m inviting you to experience my adventuresome, erotic dreams in their rawest form. Unfiltered and unedited. I’ll read to you directly from my journals, whether it’s a mere page or an extensive narrative spanning ten or even twenty pages. For privacy, however, the names of friends and family will be altered (except for dreams where my husband, Big Daddy, appears). BUT when it comes to movie stars or other “famous” figures, all bets are off—their names will remain, as they often play an integral part in my dreamscapes.

So, let me pull back the covers and invite you into the treasure trove of my erotic mind—my “Dreamtime.”

Always,
Rose
